How to register your Kindle E reader

Your Kindle will then run through a brief setup and registration process before offering you a list of Wi-Fi networks to select from; simply use your password to join one. Follow instructions provided by Amazon in order to connect wirelessly.

Your Kindle may show a screensaver when first booted up if it has not been actively being used. To wake it up, press and hold the power button or tap the screen. Step 2: Enter your Amazon account information 

If you haven’t done so already, sign in with your Amazon account on the home page of your Kindle and enter your email address and password. Depending on how your Amazon associate verifies you identity (for instance by uploading photos of ID documents or bank statements), uploading these may also be required to verify who you are before clicking Continue. Once all required information has been entered successfully click Continue to proceed further with your purchases.

Once signed in, you’ll see a list of books you own or are on hold for, as well as any subscriptions you have. If you are giving a regular Kindle to a child, consider setting it up with Amazon Kids (formerly Kindle Freetime) so they have access to content and features tailored specifically to them. Step 3: Tap Register

Once logged in, you can begin reading right away. If you purchased an eBook from the Kindle store, it will sync automatically when reconnecting to Wi-Fi – otherwise if you own a Kindle Paperwhite or Oasis you can also connect it wirelessly each month and download a free book through its Owner’s Library!

Your purchase options for Kindle books include visiting Amazon on either a computer or mobile phone and then downloading them using the Kindle reading app on that device. Alternatively, Adobe Digital Editions or Calibre are useful programs to convert EPUB or PDF files to Kindle books before sending them via USB or email directly to your Kindle reader device.
